Sanjoy Roy

Sanjoy Roy established Teamwork Films in 1989, a production house with wide ranging interests in the performing and visual arts, social sector and films and television, where he is currently managing director. Teamwork has offices in Hong Kong, Johannesburg, London, New Delhi and Singapore. Sanjoy has directed and produced a wide range of films and television programs, including drama series, news magazines, and lifestyle programs. He has received the National Tourism Award for Excellence in the Audio Visual Category and also the IDPA award for Best Documentary and Best Director, for the film `Shahjahanabad, The Twilight Years 1850 – 1947”. Teamwork produces The Asian Festival of 1st Films, an annual Film and Documentary Festival to celebrate excellence for first time producers, directors, writers, cinematographers, actors and documentary makers from the Asian Diaspora in Singapore. With more than 200 events across 18 cities in India and featuring over 250 artists, designers, researchers and entrepreneurs, the Bonjour India Festival is France’s most significant rendezvous with India in 2009/2010 and was produced by Teamwork. Sanjoy has been the Festival Director for Indian performing arts in the UK, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand and is an active Faculty member on the Indo UK Arts Management programme. The company has programmed extensively in collaboration with the Edinburgh International & Fringe Festival, Vallodolid International Film Festival Spain, & International Festivals in Perth, Wellington, Madrid, New York and South Africa.
