Margaret Bolton is an independent UK consultant who specialises in voluntary sector policy. Margaret was Director of Policy and Research at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) and was seconded from this post to work in Prime Minister Tony Blair’s Strategy Unit. Since becoming a consultant in 2002 she has undertaken policy and research projects and produced reports on a range of topics including; social investment, social innovation, capacity building and voluntary sector added value. She has been an Associate of UK cultural think tank Mission Models Money (MMM) since 2006. In 2007 she produced a report for MMM with David Carrington called New and Alternative Financial Instruments and in 2010, led the MMM Capital Matters project considering financial resilience in the arts and cultural sector.
