Beginning his career as an electronic engineering apprentice, Hugh Mason went on to read Physics at University. Shortly after graduating he became a science TV producer, joining the BBC’s flagship popular Science TV show, Tomorrow’s World, broadcasting live to an audience of 8 million. Hugh then went freelance and set up a successful independent TV production business that made multiple award-winning science TV programs for broadcasters around the world in addition to large-format digital media content for science centres. Finding himself as interested in the business side of running a creative company as he had previously been making films, Hugh co-founded Pembridge Partners in 2001. Instead of making complex stories about science accessible to non-specialist audiences, Hugh now applies his strategy, ideas and communication skills to help small creative businesses to visualise their futures and plan their way to success. Pembridge Partners LLP has provided finance and advice to help create, build and realise value in over 2,000 creative businesses in the UK, Singapore and Netherlands. Acting as its first Managing Partner, Hugh coordinated the team that led to Pembridge raising, or directly investing, more than US $50 million into creative ventures.
