The Creative3 Pitch aims to build the capacity of startup founders in the creative industries and increase the number of investor-ready businesses in Australia.
The pre-event program includes workshops and coaching by QUT Creative Enterprise Australia to ensure each business is ready to pitch to investors
All four finalists have the opportunity to qualify for the Creative Business Cup in Denmark.
To qualify, businesses must submit a 90-second pitch video to the judges. We encourage applications from startups that have been incorporated for less than five years and can demonstrate evidence of growth potential.
As the Australian hosts of the Creative Business Cup, all four Creative3 Pitch finalists qualify for the world championships for creative entrepreneurs, the Creative Business Cup.
The winners of the Creative3 Pitch investor’s choice award are rewarded with flights and accommodation for a founder to the Creative Business Cup (19-21 November) in Copenhagen, Denmark. Here they compete against 63 countries as the Creative Business Cup Australia representative. They have the opportunity to pitch to some of the biggest VCs in Europe during Global Entrepreneurship Week and compete for a prize pool of over USD $35,000.
QUT Creative Enterprise Australia (CEA) has been committed since 2010 to connect creatives with investors. Given the limited knowledge around creative tech investment opportunities, CEA created a Creative3 Investment Marketplace to encourage creative ventures to pitch their business for a prize of $25k cash and $75k support services customised to growing companies.
This operated successfully for three years before the launch of the CEA Startup Fund which invests up to $150k. The focus evolved from a “competition” to supporting more companies to connect with the Australian investor community and leveraging CEA’s own Startup Fund as a potential co-investment source. In 2013, CEA partnered with River City Labs to co-produce a joint Creative3 RiverPitch.
Over the last two years, CEA has operated a Creative3 Pitch event with finalists including Bluethumb and Handkrafted, participating and then securing capital investment.
Pitcher Partners are the presenting partner of the Creative3 Pitch for 2015 and 2016; and is also CEA’s Accounting and Advisory Firm Partner.
Pitcher Partners is an accounting and advisory firm providing a full range of services to private and family controlled groups and businesses, and the individuals within those organisations.
